RECENT LAB NEWS

Spring 2025

  • Masters Program: Rhiannon was accepted to start WT's masters program in the Fall of 2026 - Congrats! 

​

  • WT Research Fair: SEPL members presented their research posters at the 20th annual Faculty and Student Research Fair. 

​

  • Student of the Month: Logan Canada was selected as a student of the month for February! â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

​

  • McNair: Logan Canada and Riven Robinson were both accepted into the McNair Scholars Program. - Congrats to both! 

​

  • Conference Presentation: Dr. Macchione and Kiley Clendennen presented their work in a joint panel at the Southwest Popular/American Culture Association Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico. â€‹â€‹

​

  • Tutor Position: Logan Canada was hired as a Supplemental Instructor (SI) to assist with tutoring statistics on-campus. Congrats Logan!​​​​​​​​​​

  • Officer Positions: Logan Canada, Kimberly Beltrán, and Emily Hickman were all selected to be officers of Active Minds! With members becoming President, Vice President, and Treasurer respectively. 

​

  • New SEPL People: Logan Canada (UG), Rhiannon Sellinger (UG), Emily Hickman (UG), and Kimberly Beltrán (UG) all joined the lab as research assistants - Welcome! 

Fall 2024

  • Successful Proposal: Graduate student, Tanvi Mhapankar, successfully proposed her thesis proposal, "The Impact of Fast-Paced Screen Media on Executive Functioning in the Undergraduate Population". Congrats Tanvi!​​​​

​

  • Officer Position: Hadassah Corey was selected as the Vice President of the Undergraduate Psychology Club.

​​​

  • Research Grant: Keenan Davis was awarded a Undergraduate Killgore Research Grant ($3500) to fund his work on reducing biased attitudes towards individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.​​​​

​

  • New SEPL People: Riven Robinson (UG), Sarah Gil (UG), Kiley Clendennen (GR), Brooklyn Harper (UG), Tex Houseal (UG) joined the lab as research assistants - Welcome!

Spring 2024

  • PhD Acceptance: Clyde Raible was accepted to the University of Southern Mississippi to pursue his PhD in experimental psychology. Congrats Clyde!

​

  • Conference Presentation: Clyde Raible and Hadassah Corey presented their work at the Southwestern Psychological Association Conference in San Antonio, Tx on how to promote volunteerism in college students.

​

  • New SEPL People: Clyde Raible (GR), Tanvi Mhakpankar (GR), Keenan Davis (UG), Hadassah Corey (UG) and Olha Humeniuk (UG) joined the lab as research assistants - Welcome!
